Terms & Conditions

Last updated: March 2026

Draft for review. These terms are written in plain language as a working starting point. Have a lawyer qualified in Netherlands review and adapt them — including company registration and VAT details, the exact warranty periods and the withdrawal form — before the site goes live.

1. Who We Are and What These Terms Cover

These terms govern your use of www.mymengines.eu and any purchase of a truck engine or engine assembly from MYM ENGINES, a business established at Industrieweg 1, Netherlands, Netherlands. By placing an order you accept them. They are governed by the law of Netherlands. If you buy as a consumer, nothing here removes the mandatory rights you have under EU consumer law or under the law of the country where you live.

2. Our Engines

  • We sell used, new and remanufactured truck engines, short blocks and long blocks. Most units are second-hand and are sold as such.
  • Every engine is inspected and run before it goes into stock. Mileage figures are stated in kilometres and taken from the donor vehicle where it could be verified; they are indicative, not guaranteed.
  • Photographs show the actual engine wherever possible. Ancillaries visible in a photo are only included if the listing says so.
  • Emission class (Euro 5, Euro 6) and engine codes are stated to the best of our knowledge. Confirm fitment with us against your chassis number before ordering.
  • Stock is one-of-a-kind. If an engine sells while you are deciding, we will offer an equivalent unit or a full refund of anything you have paid.

3. Fitment Checks

We will check fitment for you free of charge if you give us the chassis (VIN) number of the truck and the engine code. Our confirmation is given in writing on the quote or invoice. If you order without a fitment check, or supply an incorrect chassis number, the risk of the engine not fitting is yours and a return will be treated as a change-of-mind return.

4. Prices, VAT and Payment

  • All prices are in euros (EUR) and are quoted excluding VAT unless the listing states otherwise.
  • Customers in Netherlands are invoiced with local VAT at the standard rate. Business customers elsewhere in the EU with a valid, VIES-verified intra-EU VAT number are invoiced at 0% VAT under the reverse-charge rules. Consumers in other member states are charged VAT in line with EU distance-selling rules.
  • Exports outside the EU leave VAT-free against proof of export. Import duty and destination taxes are payable by the buyer.
  • Payment is due in full before an engine is dispatched or released for collection, unless we have agreed credit terms with you in writing.
  • We may correct obvious pricing errors and cancel an affected order, refunding anything you have paid.
  • Late payment on agreed credit terms carries statutory interest and recovery costs under the EU late-payment rules.

5. Core Charge and Engine-Mount Deposit

  • A refundable core charge is added to the invoice for your old engine, and a separate refundable deposit is charged for the steel mounting frame the engine ships in.
  • Both are credited once the old engine and the frame reach us, drained and complete, within 30 days of delivery.
  • Cores that are cracked, seized beyond repair, incomplete or the wrong type are credited at a reduced amount. We tell you the amount before crediting it.
  • If the core is not returned within 30 days the core charge and deposit are retained.

6. Delivery and Risk

  • Engines are crated on pallets and shipped by insured freight across Europe. Typical transit is 1-2 working days to the Benelux, 2-3 to Germany and France and 3-6 to the rest of the EU.
  • Delivery dates are estimates. We will tell you promptly if a shipment is delayed.
  • For consumers, risk passes when the engine is physically delivered to you or your nominated carrier. For business buyers, risk passes when the engine is handed to the carrier or collected.
  • You must be able to unload a pallet of up to roughly 1,300 kg, or arrange equipment that can.
  • Transit damage must be noted on the carrier's paperwork and reported to us within 48 hours with photographs.

7. Warranty

  • Every engine includes 14 days installation warranty against internal mechanical failure. Cover of 3 months or 6 months can be bought at the time of purchase, not afterwards.
  • The warranty covers the engine only — not labour, recovery, hire vehicles, downtime or loss of earnings.
  • Engines must be fitted by a qualified heavy-vehicle workshop and given a full oil, filter and coolant service before first start. Keep the invoices; a claim cannot be assessed without them.
  • Cover ends if the engine is run on after a warning, opened without our agreement, modified, remapped, or fitted without a fitment check. The full list is on our returns and warranty page.
  • These warranties are in addition to, and do not limit, the statutory conformity rights consumers have under EU law. For second-hand goods the statutory liability period may be shortened to one year where that is agreed and permitted.

8. Right of Withdrawal (Consumers)

If you buy as a private consumer at distance, you may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of receiving the engine without giving a reason. Tell us in writing before the 14 days are up and return the engine within 14 days of that notice. Return freight is at your cost. We refund within 14 days of receiving the engine back, and we may reduce the refund to reflect any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is needed to inspect it — an engine that has been installed has been used. Full detail is on our returns page.

9. Limitation of Liability

Our total liability for any claim is limited to the price you paid for the engine in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including downtime, lost contracts, recovery costs, workshop labour or loss of earnings. We are not liable for damage caused by incorrect engine selection where no fitment check was requested, by installation by an unqualified person, or by external components, contaminated fuel or a cooling-system fault on the truck. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — and for consumers, nothing limits mandatory statutory rights.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — text, photographs of our engines, layout, logos and code — belongs to MYM ENGINES or its licensors and is protected by EU and national intellectual-property law. Manufacturer names such as Volvo, DAF, Renault, Scania, Mercedes, MAN, Doosan and Perkins are the trade marks of their owners and are used only to identify the vehicles our engines fit. We are not an authorised dealer for, or affiliated with, any of those manufacturers.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Netherlands. We would rather solve a problem than argue about one, so please contact us first. If we cannot resolve it, consumers may use the courts of their own country of residence and may also use an approved out-of-court dispute-resolution body. Business disputes go to the competent court at our place of business.
